Dewis Nduggwa alias Grenade Official, has set his sights on winning a Grammy for Uganda by the end of the year.
During an appearance on NBS TV’s After 5 on Tuesday, Grenade discussed his aim and strategy for his 2022 musical year.
He stated that he is committed to working hard and expanding his horizons in order to compete favorably on the continent and receive Grammy nominations.
Grenade Official has previously stated that he wishes to win Uganda’s first Grammy.
In past years, he voiced similar ambitions, but he has never been recognized in the considerations category for those eligible to compete in the Grammy Awards.
The “Nkuloga” hitmaker also stated that he wants to be the first Ugandan to perform at London’s O2 Arena. And that he wants to fill it like Nigerian superstar WizKid did last year.
Grenade Official Biography
Grenade is a Ugandan singer whose music is based on dancehall and R&B-influenced music. With his 2019 hit “Nkuloga,” he made a name for himself.
Grenade, who was born Dewis Ndugwa in 1997 in Lyantode, Uganda, attended Kitebi Primary School and Makindye Secondary School before beginning his career. With his 2019 track “Nkuloga,” he got widespread attention. He also performed at the African Music Festival in Dubai that year. Other songs were “Olimba,” “Mpulira Bibyo,” and “Amen.”
