On Thursday, Alex Waiswa Mufumbiro, the deputy spokesman for the National Unity Platform (NUP), married his girlfriend Edith Katende in front of witnesses. HE Bobi Wine and First Lady Barbie Itungo Kyagulanyi, as well as NUP’s Principal Hon. Kyagulanyi Robert Sentamu alias Mufumbiro, accompanied Edith down the aisle at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Namirembe.
The change occurs just a few days after Waiswa’s lovely bride presented him to her parents in a private opulent wedding that took place in Jinja. A number of influential politicians, including former presidential candidate Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert, often known as Bobi Wine, as well as NUP party leaders and members of parliament, attended the wedding.
The celebration was held at One Love Beach in Busabala, which is located in the Wakiso region. NUP supporters and Waiswa’s former classmates and coworkers surrounded the event in glitzy apparel. Among the famous visitors were Rtd. Col. Dr. Kizza Besigye, a four-time candidate for president, Busiro East MP Medard Lubega Ssegona, Mityana municipality MP Zaake Francis Butebi, Kampala City Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, and the NUP secretary general David Lewis Rubongoya.
The outspoken Waiswa came down the aisle to marry his bride Edith Katende with pomp and circumstance as he was dressed in a sparkling suit. According to Waiswa’s speech, the pair dated for almost ten years. “I made a vow to give you one of the nicest weddings ever ten years ago. I appreciate your patience, Waiswa said.
In his address, Bobi Wine thanked Alex Waiswa Mufumbiro for making that decision and welcomed him to the league of men with the help of his wife, Barbie Ithungo Kyagulanyi.
Congratulations are still coming in the form of messages, particularly from NUP supporters who wish the couple a happy and stable union.
