Last year, comedian Maama Sam, real name Nakkito Lydia, came out and paraded off children, claiming she didn’t have enough money to care for them due to the lockdown.
People responded to her cries by donating matoke, posho, and cash, including Maama Fiina and Abitex.
After receiving the donations, the comedian appeared on Spark TV, where she thanked everyone who helped her. She revealed that she had begun investing the money she had received in poultry.
A few days ago, the children paraded off by Maama Sam as her and her sister’s revealed that they had been used.
The children claim that the comedian, who is also their neighbor and a friend of their mother’s, approached them and asked one of them to play with her own daughter and another to play her sister’s.
According to the girls, Maama Sam received UGX 2 million from Maama Fiona but did not share it with them.
The girl’s mother, who also appeared on Spark TV, stated that her husband was upset. This Came after seeing their children on TV begging for assistance, despite the fact that they never lacked at home. She went on to say that their father had disowned them and had stopped sending them money.
She asked Maama Sam to return to television and tell everyone that she used the children to solicit money from people.
Maama Sam responded to the girls’ claims, saying that they are ungrateful. Because she was only trying to help them and that she discovered them in a bad situation.
