This week, blogger Ismah Olaxess took to his Facebook page “Jaaja Ichuli” to criticize government officials for their antipathy toward Muslims.
Olaxess was disgusted by the fact that all of the suspects named by police in the recent bomb explosions in Kampala had Muslim names.
According to him, the government is using the incidents to smear the image of Muslims in the country. He went on to say that he wished the explosions had occurred inside Parliament, killing parliamentarians, particularly Speaker Jacob Oulanyah.
“I want a terrorists to put a bomb in Parliament so you can learn. You hate moslems so much. Oulanyah, I want them to bomb and kill you for the hate you have on moslems. Whatever happens you put it on moslems. Now I support the terrorists,” He partly said
Hours later, the blogger apologized for his comments, claiming that he was overcome by emotion.
“I am now sober , I acknowledge I said the wrong words that shouldn’t come from a leader of my caliber, I fully take responsibility and apologise for my actions. I request my followers and leaders of this beautiful nation to consider my apologies and disassociate me from supporting any wrongdoing,” He said.
