Following a photo finish against Black Widow, Free Guy arrives at Number 1 on the Official Film Chart on digital downloads only!
The Ryan Reynolds-led video game comedy (free guy)concludes the week with a razor-thin lead of just 90 units. Above last week’s chart-topper Black Widow, which debuts at Number 2 today.
Guy (Reynolds) is a bank teller who believes he lives in a flawless, if exciting, world until he discovers he’s actually an NPC (non-player character). In a violent computer game and decides to become the hero of his own story.
Another significant new entry, Fast & Furious 9, debuts at Number 3 on the Official Chart, thanks to high digital download sales.
With the debut of the new James Bond film No Time To Die in theaters, fans are reminiscing about their favorite Bond movie. Spectre (2015) jumps seven spots to No. 4, Casino Royale (2006) jumps 13 spots to No. 6, and Skyfall (2012) follows closely at No. 7. Quantum of Solace (2008) makes its Official Chart debut just outside the Top 10. While a James Bond Collection, which was published in 2017, is farther down at 31.
Meanwhile, In The Heights, a New York-based musical, debuts at Number 5 after being published on disc and digital last week. After first being released on Premium Video On Demand earlier this year. Finally, Luca climbs nine places to number nine in the Top 10.
