General Manager: Amano is a recently opened (6 weeks) coffee shop with fresh baked pastries by day, cocktail bar with food service at night.
Amano means “by hand” – hand crafted coffee beverages and cocktails are the heart of what we do. We serve unique twists on classic coffee drinks and cocktails, centered around our coffee imported from independent farms in Colombia and playing on the Italian heritage of our head chef.
Our beverage program is the primary focus, with the food service intended to serve tasty bites to accompany the craft beverages.
This position is for a General Manager role for the evening operations (cocktails and food service). We have a strong beverage director and executive chef, and are looking for an individual that can tie everything together and craft a customer experience that communicates our brand to the customer base. The key challenge we are trying to solve for after 6 weeks of soft opening is to tighten up the operations and create and implement an efficient operating model and create a customer experience that speaks to the clientele in our neighborhood (Cobble Hill).

Our space is beautifully designed and our ambiance brings a little taste of what you would find in Manhattan neighborhoods like Soho to Cobble Hill. Our chef has experience leading kitchens everywhere from Montauk (Ruschmeyers) to the West Village (Little Charli) to DUMBO (Cecconi’s). We have strong personnel at all positions, but are lacking someone with strong experience leading fulsome operations that can tie everything together and lead a team of highly talented and experienced individuals that are delivering a great products in their own right but struggling to tie together a cohesive customer experience that communicates who we are and what we do. Our bar staff comes from places such as Barely Disfigured (Cobble Hill), Amore Amaro (Alphabet City) and Shelter (Williamsburg)
The establishment is owned by three partners with limited hospitality experience but strong business acumen that are looking for the right individual they can empower to deliver the customer experience they envision and harness the talents of a strong group of experienced professionals. The role is for a General Manager, but someone that is willing to get their hands dirty to stabilize a new operation and bring it to the full realization of its potential.
Compensation Details
- Compensation: Salary ($80,000.00 – $120,000.00)
