Ugandans React: Mourning the Loss of Isma Olaxess After Tragic Shooting

On the evening of Saturday 6th May 2023, the renowned blogger and music critic, Ibrahim Tusubira, also known as Jajja Ichuli or Isma Olaxess, was shot dead by unknown gunmen in the Kyanja area. The news of his tragic death has sent shockwaves across the country and social media platforms are filled with posts mourning his loss.

Images of Isma Olaxess’ blood-covered body sitting in a car, wearing a Lakers jersey and a subha wrapped around his neck have been circulating on social media. According to sources, the motormouth blogger was shot by unidentified gunmen who were reportedly riding on a motorcycle while he was heading back home.

This incident comes just days after the shocking news of the death of Minister Charles Okello Engola who was shot by his bodyguard. Videos of Isma Olaxess criticizing the fallen Minister after his death have also been circulating on social media.

Isma Olaxess was known for his unapologetic nature and his views on the political, social, and economic affairs of the country were appreciated by his followers. He was also a close friend to several entertainers who loved him for his convincing tongue when it came to the promotion of art.

However, on different occasions, Isma Olaxess has been viewed on videos supporting violence caused by the ruling government of Uganda, including killing and torture. He was also a supporter of the National Resistance Movement, the party in power. Many people have criticized his support for such acts of violence.

People have been reacting to his death on social media, with some expressing their sadness while others appear to be indifferent. One tweep replied, “I swear at times it’s better to stay silent. Now imagine how the families which lost their loved ones felt after watching this clip. Anyways fena lye kubo. rip”. Tuff B, a TV host and Ugandan musician, commented, “You reap what you sow โ˜บ๏ธ”. Frank M. Gashumba also posted, “Very disturbing news! ISMA OLAXES GUNNED DOWN.” Mc Kacheche Starboy added, “I canโ€™t believe #JajjaIculi is no more ๐Ÿ˜ญ , RIP Isma Olaxes ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป.”

The loss of Isma Olaxess is a great loss to the Ugandan entertainment industry and the country as a whole. The authorities must investigate this incident thoroughly and bring those responsible to justice.
