After suffering injuries on Tuesday, Thomas Tuchel hopes Mateo Kovacic and Hakim Ziyech will be available for Sunday’s Carabao Cup final.
The two midfielders are now doubtful for the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool on Sunday.
Kovacic hobbled off in the 51st minute of Tuesday’s 2-0 victory over Lille, and Ziyech was replaced nine minutes later.
Both are now questionable for Sunday’s match against Liverpool at Wembley Stadium.
Thomas Tuchel reporting on BT Sport
“I don’t know,” When asked about the players’ situation, Tuchel told BT Sport. “I should have subbed Mateo Kovacic at half-time so could have had one more change. I have not spoken to the doctor about Hakim and hope it is not serious.” He said
“Today is Tuesday, there are a lot of days to recover until Sunday. We don’t like to have that many injuries and more impact from the bench on a tactical matter. I hope they will be ready for Sunday.” Thomas Tuchel added

Chelsea defeated Lille 2-0 in their Round of 16 match, with goals from Kai Havertz and Christian Pulisic.
