Mc Kats, an NBS TV presenter, was recognized and awarded for his efforts in combating HIV-related stigma and discrimination.
On Thursday, November 18th, 2021, Edwin Katamba, popularly known as MC Kats, received his reward in the presence of the King of Tooro Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru IV.
The award however, presented to him at Hotel Africana by King Oyo,. Recognized his contribution to the fight against HIV-related stigma and discrimination.
Firstly, the historic moment occurred as part of the 14th Annual Joint AIDS Review and Philly Lutaaya Memorial Lecture at the National HIV and AIDS Scientific Meeting.
The annual virtual meeting featured primarily specially selected, cutting-edge, peer-reviewed presentations on various aspects of HIV/AIDS.
In addition, the three-day meeting, organized by the Uganda AIDS Commission in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the Research Academia and Professional Self Coordinating Entity. It included discussions and presentations from other HIV/AIDS advocates.
