Sadio Mane scored the game-winning penalty as the West African side won their first Afcon title, denying Egypt a record-extending eighth continental title.
The Liverpool star had his penalty saved by Egypt goalkeeper Mohamed Abou Gabal, who was named Man of the Match, just seven minutes into the game, but he held his nerve when he returned in the shootout.
Mane, who scored three goals and provided two assists during the tournament, was named Player of the Tournament, and many fans took to social media to express their feelings about the thrilling match.
