Singer Edrisa Musuuza aka Eddy Kenzo, according to seasoned musician Ragga Dee, born Daniel Kazibwe, is a competent but not the best artist in Uganda. After being questioned about Eddy Kenzo’s success in Uganda’s music industry based on his recent triumphant “Eddy Kenzo Festival” that he staged at Kololo Airstrip, Ragga Dee offered his opinion.
At the Airstrip, Eddy Kenzo’s festival attracted a massive crowd of attendees. Additionally, it featured local performers as well as international acts like Mampi from Zambia, American vocalist Matt B, Bahati, and Harmonize. The singer of “Champion” fame revealed that the Big Talent leader is a highly talented singer while answering the query.
He did, however, point out that Kenzo is not the best musician in Uganda even if he was nominated for a Grammy. Ragga Dee backed up his claim by saying that there are a great deal of unknown artists in various sections of Uganda who might be better than Eddy Kenzo.
“Eddy Kenzo is a very good artist. However he is not the best musician in Uganda. That is because there some other good artists in Karamoja and different regions that we don’t know of.” Ragga Dee
Ragga Dee went on to emphasize that when you contrast today’s music with the early 2000s and earlier years, the latter’s music was highly educational in contrast to today’s music, which is simply bubble gum and doesn’t inspire anyone.
