When it comes to artists who are tainted by controversy and showbiz, Bebe Cool is at the top of the list!
Aside from music, Bebe’s name has largely remained on people’s lips year after year. Owing to the star singer’s mastery of the game of courting controversy and showbiz.
With no hit song dominating the airwaves, Bebe Cool makes one controversial statement and, voila! He has a four-month trend. He’s so good at wreaking havoc and effortlessly making headlines when he releases a new song, for example!
The 44-year-old outspoken musician had been as quiet as a graveyard musically this year until a fortnight ago. When he released ‘Gyenvudde,’ an inspirational jam that has received a lukewarm reception.
With over 20 years of experience in the game,. Bebe Cool knew which buttons to press to get people’s attention and push the song. During an interview with the NBS TV After5 crew on Tuesday this week, the master of showbiz took a step back. He dismissed the comparisons to Tanzanian star Diamond Platnumz…and guess what? He is currently trending on all social media platforms.
Bebe Cool boasted about owning two swanky homes better than Diamond’s, claiming that he could be richer than the TZ star.
He claimed that the Boy from Tandale simply buys YouTube views for his songs in order to dupe the public. The Gagamel chief, who appeared irritated by the comparison, also revealed how Diamond hired four cars and lied to the public that he had purchased them for his mother and baby mama, Tanasha Donna.
“…when you have a look at Diamond’s ka house there is no way you can compare it with my two mansions. Last year when NTV asked us to record videos in our houses you all saw how terrible the interior of his house was…” Bebe dropped a bombshell.
“…it is a wrong perception to hype someone over YouTube views because you all know the truth that those views are just bought. Diamond has never performed on concerts, not even quarter than the biggest concerts I have ever performed but you will find that you will lavish praises on him for how big he is. Just to remind you, Tanzania has had bigger artists before who traded their music without social media. The likes of Professor Jay and Mr. Nice had it all,” he popped Diamond’s bubble.
