Singer Sheebah Kalungi unexpectedly stormed out of a press conference she had with fellow singer Cindy Sanyu on Monday afternoon. The conference was meant to provide media updates on their upcoming music battle, which is scheduled to take place on September 15 at Kololo Independence grounds.
The press conference was held at Victoria University, and both Sheebah Karungi and Cindy arrived to a large crowd of their fans. The two singers were given an opportunity to speak up and field questions from the media. Midway through the press conference, Bukedde TV entertainment journalist Josephat Sseguya asked Sheebah a question that seemed to upset her.
Sheebah calmly walked towards Cindy and told Sseguya to “take a chill pill.” She then implored Cindy to settle their grievances at Kololo Independence grounds on the 15th of September before tracing the press conference venue exit in an unexpected way.
Cindy was left stunned by Sheebah’s outburst, but she remained calm and continued to answer questions from the media. Sheebah’s fans were also surprised by her behavior, but they remained supportive of her. The reason for Sheebah’s outburst is unclear, but it is possible that she was unhappy with the questions that Sseguya asked her. It is also possible that she was simply feeling stressed about the upcoming music battle.
Whatever the reason, Sheebah’s actions have certainly generated a lot of buzz in the Ugandan music industry. It will be interesting to see how Sheebah Karungi and Cindy handle the situation in the coming weeks.
