Singer Sheebah Karungi has hit back at a section of journalists who have over the years castigated her on their respective platforms. During a press conference at Victoria University on Monday, Bukedde TV journalists Josephat Sseguya and Simo ‘Omunene’ Maseruka grilled Sheebah Karungi.
Simo questioned Sheebah why she flaunted a bag with filthy wordings despite being the Victoria University brand ambassador. Sseguya then took the mic and said that Sheebah’s career would be over after her music battle with Cindy Sanyu.
“I couldn’t stay where I was being disrespected.” Sheebah Karungi said
Sheebah retaliated by telling Sseguya that he had failed himself and asked him to sit down because the press conference wasn’t his. She then told Cindy to find her at their music battle in Kololo in September before exiting the press conference prematurely.
In a later interview with NBS, Sheebah was asked why she had unexpectedly left the press conference. She said that she couldn’t stay where she was being disrespected. Sheebah said that she is disliked by certain unsuccessful journalists and that she is aware of this because she stood her ground and refused to be disrespected.
“If to like me you will have to first disrespect me then you won’t like me forever,” she said. “I come with respect and you will return it and if you don’t return it, I am not your chic, I am sorry.” The Karma Music Ug CEO added that there are certain young journalists, like Kaye Wisdom, who genuinely appreciate her and won’t criticize her for unimportant things.
