Following their arrest on Friday, Lord Councillor 5 for Makindye East III, Ggaba and Kansanga, Mr. Mosh Ssendi, and 13 other councilors were remanded to Kitalya prison until next week.
The councilors who were arraigned before the Buganda Road Court were charged with inciting violence when they stormed the streets in Kampala, accusing the KCCA of forcibly removing street vendors and hawkers.
These were arrested on Thursday afternoon along the parliamentary avenue, just as their demonstrations from City Hall had begun.
The councilors will return to court next week for another hearing on the case. Mr. Mosh broke the news of their arrest on his Facebook page first.
