Daniella Atim disclosed in a very private Instagram post that she had taken legal action to defend herself against her estranged ex-husband, renowned Ugandan musician Jose Chameleon, to the point of obtaining a restraining order against him after he threatened her.
Looking back on her journey, Daniella described how, despite keeping up appearances for safety, she “mentally and emotionally checked out” of her marriage in 2016 and started planning her departure. By 2018, she had successfully moved abroad with her kids, starting again in a new country.
After overcoming many obstacles, such as working many jobs to provide for her family, Daniella’s perseverance finally allowed her to find security. She proudly revealed accomplishments like getting her five kids to private school, buying a house in 2021, and bringing charges against people who had hurt her—choices that demonstrate her determination to create a fearless life.
Daniella added another layer of protection in 2023 when she obtained a restraining order against Chameleone, demonstrating her commitment to maintaining a safe environment for herself and her family.
Now feeling independent and at peace, she advised women to put their health first, bravely admitting that even though the road ahead is difficult, it’s worth taking a chance.
She concluded by saying that her only regret is not to have moved on sooner.
