Singer Hajarah Namukwaya, known as Spice Diana, has revealed another embarrassing incident from her early music career in which she purchased fake hips and buttocks to impress audiences on stage. Still, one fell out, leaving her out of shape.
As she prepares to mark a decade in the industry with a highly awaited concert on January 10, 2025, at Serena Hotel Kampala, the “Star Gal” is down memory lane.
The singer talked about her first big performance at Front Page in Namasuba in February 2018 in an interview with Doreen Nasasira and Bina Babie. Despite being a major turning point in her career, the occasion was ruined by a memorable wardrobe malfunction.
Spice Diana stated that she utilized artificial hips to enhance her appearance during the performance. However, as she was lifted into the air mid-performance, the phony improvements moved out of position. This embarrassed her, but it also marked a turning point in her fashion choices. “It was so embarrassing that I pledged never to wear them again,” she told me.
Spice Diana has been regarded as a Ugandan style icon ever since, embracing genuineness and utilizing her wardrobe to further her artistic expression.
