Shamim Malende, a female MP from Kampala, underwent a second procedure at the Aga Khan hospital in Nairobi, Kenya. Following a three-hour detention at the Kawempe Divisional Police Station by the police, Hon. Malende became ill last week.
Her condition deteriorated, and she was sent to Lubaga Hospital. There, physicians later recommended she be transferred to Aga Khan Hospital in Kenya. Shamim Malende is undergoing a growing number of procedures, but nothing seems to be improving her health. Malende had initially underwent surgery for stomach discomfort.
However, experts advised she have a second procedure when her abdomen pain continued. Shamim Malende underwent a second operation on Thursday, November 24, 2022, according to the New Vision newspaper, and her family is wishing for a successful outcome.
The legislator is, however, slightly better, according to the administrator of her social media pages. “From ICU to general ward. Honorable Shamim Malende steadily recovering. Thank you all for your prayers,” her admin posted
Shamim malende bio
Malende was born in Kawempe, Kampala, Uganda’s capital city, in December 1980 parents teachers Jane Francis Nasunna and attorney Alhajj Jamal Ahmed Sebuta Malende.
In the Kayunga District, she went to Busaale Church of Uganda Primary School. She finished her O-Level coursework at the Buziga Islamic Theological Institute in the Kampala district of Bbunga in the Makindye Division. After that, she changed schools and enrolled at Aisha Girls High School in Mbarara, a city in Western Uganda. After receiving a score of AAAA on her A-Level exams in 2000, she graduated as the top student in the Western Region and among the top ten in the nation.
She received government scholarship for admission to Makerere University, the oldest and biggest public university in Uganda. In 2005, she earned a Bachelor of Laws degree. The Law Development Centre in Kampala awarded her a postgraduate diploma in legal practice after that. In 2008, she received admission to the Uganda Bar.
