Although it is fully operational, WhatsApp is briefly outage on Tuesday morning caused some users to fear.
Users in Africa, Asia, the United Kingdom, and Europe have reported problems sending and receiving texts and videos on the well-known messaging app early this morning.
Thousands of users had already reported issues with the app, which has grown to be a vital tool for communication in both homes and enterprises, by 9 a.m.
When the app experienced a similar outage in October, trading of assets, including cryptocurrency and oil, was severely impacted before traders shifted to alternate platforms like Telegram.
This morning, the same substitute in addition to iMessages, Instagram, and Twitter, among other channels, have been helpful.
Is WhatsApp off? has been a popular question on Twitter. The app was then briefly restored to midday, followed by a wave of countless memes.
Why whatsapp is off
The parent company of WhatsApp, Meta, acknowledged the issue and announced earlier today that a fix was being developed. “We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble sending messages and we’re working to restore WhatsApp for everyone as quickly as possible.”
The reason for the outage is yet unclear, but once Meta or WhatsApp release additional details, we should know more.
