In a startling turn of events, Maulana Kasozi, one half of the beloved Maulana and Reign comedy duo, finds himself entangled in a legal battle stemming from allegations of familial neglect. Nalugya Shubira Betty, the mother of Maulana Kasozi three children, has publicly accused him of failing to uphold his responsibilities as a father for the past nine months.
According to Nalugya, whenever Maulana Kasozi visits, his priorities seem misplaced, focusing primarily on engaging in intimate activities rather than tending to familial duties. She claims that the financial support provided afterward is woefully inadequate, often amounting to a mere Ugx 10 or 5K for childcare expenses.
Refusing to acquiesce to Maulana’s demands, Nalugya declined his offer to take custody of the children, citing their tender age as a primary concern. Subsequently, the matter was brought before the family court at Mwanga II, resulting in a ruling that mandated Maulana to pay Ugx 15K daily for childcare and contribute to rent expenses.
Initially compliant, Maulana Kasozi fulfilled the rent obligation for three months, spanning June to August of the previous year, but has since ceased to do so. This abrupt halt has placed Nalugya in a precarious financial position, particularly with the impending school fees for her children.
Compounding the issue, Maulana’s evasion of capture has exacerbated tensions, prompting the issuance of an arrest warrant by the court. Despite his attempts to defend himself on social media, alleging Nalugya’s mental instability and accusations of poisoning attempts, Maulana’s arrest earlier today underscores the gravity of the situation.
