According to reports from our neighbor Kenya, President Mwai Kibaki has died. President Uhuru Kenyatta made the announcement on Friday morning.
President Kibaki was Kenya’s third president from 2003 to 2013. He was 90 years old when he died, and his cause of death has yet to be revealed.
““It is a sad day for us as a country. We have lost a great leader, the former president Mwai Kibaki,” President Kenyatta said from the State House during a news conference.
“I order and direct that in the testimony of high esteem that all Kenyans held for Mwai Kibaki, the country will hold a period of national mourning until sunset on the day he will be buried. All flags will fly at half-mast during this period.” President Kenyatta added.

Emilio Stanley Mwai Kibaki (November 15, 1931 – April 22, 2022), popularly known as Mwai Kibaki, was a Kenyan politician who served as the country’s third President from December 2002 to April 2013.
He had previously served as Kenya’s fourth Vice-President from 1978 to 1988, under President Daniel arap Moi.
