Lwasa Emmanuel, the tycoon of Masaka City, appears to be in for a difficult year in 2022. The famous ‘sumbie’ eater has been arrested yet again.
Lwasa was arrested in January for selling fake gold to a Chinese national worth UGX200 million, but he was later released on police bond. Lwasa revealed to the media that the Chinese wanted to steal his money. He stated that he has never sold forged gold.
However, shocking reports reaching our news desk confirm that Lwasa Emmanuel has been arrested for the third time in three months for forgery.
In addition, according to Metropolitan Deputy Police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire, Lwasa was arrested on April 4, 2022, after forging the signatures of the acting director of Geological survey and mines Ag.D/GSM Minister of Energy and mineral development Mrs. Alaba Agnes and Ms. Grace Lwaje Principal Chemist Directorate of Geological survey and mines (DGSM) to transact money from his two companies.
“Mr. Lwasa was arrested on April 4, 2022, at 1600hrs from his office at Najja Shopping Centre, Najjanankumbi for allegedly forging the signature of the acting Director Geological survey and mines (Ag. D/GSM) Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development Mrs. Alaba Agnes and that of Ms. Grace Lajwe Principal Chemist Directorate of Geological survey and mines (DGSM) in his fraudulent transactions using his two companies; Trans Equator Miners Ltd and Trade Panel International Limited,” Luke Owoyesigyire.
