In a heartfelt gesture of compassion, the President of the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF), Eddy Kenzo, came to the aid of a struggling DJ whose daughter is battling severe heart complications. The heartwarming incident took place during a meeting held between Ugandan DJs and the UNMF, where they were discussing the possibility of joining the federation.
During the meeting, one Mukono-based DJ mustered the courage to share the distressing news about his daughter’s deteriorating health. She had been reliant on breathing support machines for the past three months due to her heart condition. The DJ had taken drastic measures to cover the towering medical expenses, selling off cherished belongings, including his beloved Toyota Vitz, Laptop, and music players.
Clutching his daughter’s X-rays in his trembling hands, the DJ pleaded with Eddy Kenzo and his team to lend a helping hand, praying for anything that could potentially save his little girl’s life. Touched by the DJ’s plea, Eddy Kenzo decided to take immediate action.
Without hesitation, Eddy Kenzo pledged to provide the DJ with USD 500, which roughly converts to UGX 1,800,000, to support the ailing child’s medical treatment. In addition to the generous contribution, Kenzo also vowed to rally his fellow musicians to raise more funds for the DJ’s daughter’s medical expenses.
The news of Eddy Kenzo’s benevolence has touched the hearts of many, proving once again that small acts of kindness can make a significant difference in someone’s life. As the UNMF president, Kenzo exemplifies the spirit of unity and compassion, showing that artists can come together to support those in need.
