Singer Bruno K took a stand, demanding an apology on behalf of the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) from a parliamentary journalist. The incident dates back to a recent visit by the UNMF, led by their president Eddy Kenzo and Sheeah Karungi, to the parliament. Their mission: to deliver a petition regarding the amendment of the copyright law.
However, during the meeting, things took an unexpected turn as the atmosphere grew disorderly, prompting one journalist to label the musicians as disorganized individuals. This statement did not sit well with several musicians, including Ray Signature and Bruno K, who even called for the journalist’s removal from the gathering.
Yesterday, as the UNMF convened at the parliament once again, the journalist in question was present to cover the proceedings. Bruno K’s reaction was immediate and furious. He demanded that the journalist offer an apology to the entire congregation. Failing to do so, Bruno insisted that the journalist leave the meeting.
The meeting’s chairman had to step in to mediate the situation. He urged Bruno K to put the previous altercation with the journalist behind them and focus on the current agenda. Bruno K agreed, stating, “Let’s stick to the issues of this meeting without getting confrontational. We can address the previous engagement elsewhere. It’s not conducive for our discussion today.”
In demanding an apology, Bruno K showcased the importance of respect and professionalism in their endeavors, emphasizing that disputes should not overshadow the primary purpose of their meetings.
