On Tuesday, August 8, 2022, thieves broke into Aromatic Film Studios and stole some property.
Laptops and hard disks were among the items stolen, and they contained a large amount of content that had been filmed and was ready for release very soon.
According to Ahmed Lubowa, the entertainment label’s boss, the thieves broke into their studios around 2 p.m., when one of the editors went out to buy lunch.
When the editor returned, the studio doors were wide open.
He later discovered that some of the equipment was missing. The incident was reported to the nearest police station, and an investigation was launched.
According to reports, part of the stolen equipment included a new play titled “Batende” that was set to be released soon.
Lubowa emphasized how much of a setback it is because they will have to reshoot if the equipment is never recovered.
Aromatic Film Studios is one of the biggest film production companies we have in the Ugandan Movie industry.
