On “Upendo,” Uganda’s Hajarah Namukwaya Diana a.k.a Spice Diana collaborates with Tanzania’s WCB vocalist Zuchu, real name Zuhura Othman Soud.
Firstly, When Diamond Platnumz presented Zuchu to the top music industry in April 2020,. East Africa was eager to learn what made her so unique.
Fast forward to now, and she is a top female diva in the region. With a few African hits under her belt, including the blockbuster hit song Sukari.
In terms of music, comparisons have already been made between her and some of the female artists she encountered on the scene.
In addition, In terms of fashion, she appears to have taken a lot of inspiration from Source Management Songstress Spice Diana.
The two teamed up a few months ago and went into the studio to record a new collaboration that their fans have been clamoring for.
Spice and Zuchu share their love experiences in the new song “Upendo” (loosely translated as “Love”).
The song is primarily sung in Swahili, making it more accessible to the wider East African community. And the groovy beat will have you dancing even if you don’t understand the lyrics.
However, Zuchu’s signature voice, wrapped around the perfectly arranged lyrics, creates a melody that you’ll want to listen to again and again.
Further, Spice Diana stated last year that 2021 would be dedicated to East African collaborations, which she has already accomplished with songs with Harmonize, DJ Seven, Mbosso, and now Zuchu.
