Late Mowzey Radio’s widow and talented singer, Lilian Mbabazi, finds herself teetering on the brink of eviction from her rented home due to a mounting debt in unpaid rent. The unfolding drama has captured the attention of many as Mr. Sitran Deshpande, her landlord, makes a compelling case.
Since February 21, 2018, Lilian Mbabazi has called the house her home, agreeing to a monthly rent of Ugx 1.5 million. However, things took an unexpected turn in April 2022 when she abruptly ceased paying her rent without providing any clear reasons.
Mr. Deshpande, left with no other recourse, decided to enlist the help of legal authorities, and his legal team promptly issued a demand notice to Lilian. Lawyer Sufian, representing the landlord, expressed his frustration, stating that Lilian had been elusive, citing her constant city-hopping as an excuse for her non-compliance.
While Lilian initially claimed to remain a tenant, she mysteriously removed all her belongings from the property, contradicting her assertion during a recent phone call. In the conversation, she expressed her intention to meet with the involved parties on Thursday, maintaining that she had been awaiting delayed funds to clear her mounting debt, as conveyed through Mr. Egesa.
Lawyer Sufian, however, left no room for ambiguity, urging Lilian Mbabazi to appear at Konge Police Station without fail on Thursday, to facilitate the authorities’ entry into the property. The legal battle unfolds as Lilian Mbabazi’s future in her rented home hangs in the balance, and only time will tell how this eviction saga will conclude.
