Kizz Daniel, a Nigerian singer, was detained along with members of his team in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, for failing to appear at a show he was scheduled to perform.
Kizz Daniel, real name Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe, delivered a memorable performance in Uganda on Saturday, July 6th at the Lugogo Cricket Oval.
He then flew to Tanzania, where he was scheduled to perform at the Summer Amplified concert on July 7th at the Warehouse Arena in Dar es Salaam.
According to reports, despite arriving in the country early, Kizz Daniel did not visit the venue where several of his fans were waiting.
After waiting for the singer to perform in vain, the crowd became enraged and began causing damage to the venue’s property.
Kizz Daniel and two of his crew members were picked up by a police truck at the Johari Rotana Hotel in the City Center, according to social media videos.
They are then taken to the Oystebay Police Station, where they are being held under tight security.
According to reports, the Buga singer was paid in full but refused to perform because he couldn’t find the clothes he planned to wear during his performance.
It is also reported that, despite Tanzania promoters’ best efforts, Kizz Daniel turned down the offer.
