Omulangira Ndausi, a veteran media personality and event promoter, allegedly spent Monday night in jail after being arrested for extortion.
Omulangira Ndausi, real name Simon Peter Ndawula, was wanted by police earlier this month, according to rumors.
According to reports on several blogs, Ndausi used his persuasive tongue to take money from various people while promising them jobs abroad.
However, on Monday evening, NTV Uganda news anchor Andrew Kyamagero broke the news of Ndausi’s arrest via his Twitter handle.
In addition, Kyamagero posted a video of a man at a police station and revealed that the veteran media personality would be spending the night at Jinja Road police station.
“Omulangira Ndausi arrest and to spend a night at Jinja road police station for extorting money from youths promising them jobs abroad. Wrong is wrong.” Andrew Kyamagero Omuntu Wawansi tweeted.
