Sergio Kun Aguero elaborated on what his health complications mean for his future after being forced to retire.
Sergio Aguero, a former Manchester City player, has admitted that he wants to watch and play football but is too scared after being diagnosed with cardiac arrhythmia.
The former striker was forced to retire from football due to medical advice from his doctors, much to the chagrin of fans all over the world.
The Argentine has insisted that now is the time to unwind, though he will consider what kind of role he might still play in football in the future.
So, what has been said?
Aguero told TYC Sports, “Today I want to play, but I’m scared.” I’ve spent my entire life training to the max and competing in big events. I don’t watch football or the news, and I don’t care what’s going on in the world.
“I concentrate on what I like the most, like friends. Returning to play comes into my head from time to time but I know it’s something I can’t do. They told me I was lucky because I could easily have had a heart attack. Now it time to relax. I’m happy with what I’m doing.”
Regarding his role with Argentina in the 2022 World Cup: “We’re still talking about what role I’ll have. [Argentine FA president Claudio Tapia] has always been nice to me and asked me to come.”
“We’re going to chat a little more to see if I’ll go to the World Cup draw. I’ll be there with the guys, I get along very well with them. I’ll be there with them and helping them with tense situations.”
What became of Sergio Kun Aguero?
Aguero was diagnosed with cardiac arrhythmia at the end of October 2021. He then was subsequently ruled out of action for three months.
Cardiac arrhythmia occurs when the heart beats irregularly, either too slowly or too quickly. However, no one expected the prolific goal scorer to have to retire.
Just one month later, in December 2021, Aguero announced to the world that he would have to retire due to medical advice and thanked all of the teams he had ever played for in his career.
