Pastor Martin Ssempa recently revealed that he fears for his life after an alarming encounter. Posting on X/Twitter, Ssempa disclosed that his neighbors in Jungo Kasanje alerted him to suspicious activity around his home. “Three men on a boda boda were patrolling my home,” he said. One of the men was reportedly armed, heightening concerns that they were on an assassination mission.
According to Pastor Martin Ssempa, the men didn’t just patrol. They attempted to set up roadblocks and even tried to break into his farm. He also received numerous calls from strangers, seemingly trying to trace his location. “I switched off my phone and went into my bunker for a few days,” Ssempa stated, emphasizing the seriousness of the threat.
Pastor Ssempa suspects that these attempts on his life might be linked to his staunch defense of Uganda’s anti-sodomy law. Recently, he received files from LGBTQ groups seeking to annul the law. “I don’t know if it’s connected, but the timing is suspicious,” Ssempa noted.
