Cindy Sanyu plans to pay back the celebrated TV personality and emcee MC Kats for the kindness he showed her when she was alone in her solo career. She vividly recounted how MC Kats was there for her, emceeing at her concerts free of charge.
“My very first concert was Amateeka, and because I had no budget, I looked for any emcees that could help me but no one was willing,” she recalled. “Kats came to me and told me he believed in me and that he was going to emcee for me. He did not call me the following morning asking to be paid.”
The Blu 3 legend also mentioned Kats’ support during her Boom Party concert in 2020. “Kats has done lots of things for me over the years that no DJ has done for me on this continent. I am now appealing to him that when he has King of the Mic, he should call me up to go with him,” she added.
Last year, Kats announced that he was quitting emceeing for good to focus on other commitments. “I am quitting everything to do with stage and nightlife. I want to focus on my MC Kats Foundation because most of the work there is in the morning hours and I cannot be spending the night out when in the morning I have a board meeting,” he said. Besides, he mentioned wanting to give way to new emcees rising in the industry.
