Nina Roz has firmly denied receiving any funds from the Federation, contradicting recent claims by Eddy Kenzo, the Federation’s president. Despite Kenzo’s assertion that she received financial support, Nina Roz insists this never happened.
In a candid statement, Nina Roz expressed her disappointment over Kenzo’s televised remarks. “I don’t understand why these claims are being made,” she said, emphasizing that no money was ever given to her. Nina Roz is not just another name in Uganda’s music industry; she is recognized as one of the pioneers of the Federation.
Her primary goal was to advocate for copyright law amendments and to streamline the country’s music industry. “I was focused on real issues, not personal gain,” she stated, pointing out her dedication to the Federation’s early mission.
However, her journey with the Federation took a turn when she noticed progress stalling. Feeling that the initiative wasn’t moving forward, Nina Roz decided to step back. “When I saw that we weren’t going anywhere, I returned to school,” she explained. Her focus has since shifted to addressing more significant national issues, which she believes are more pressing than disputes over SACCO funds.
Nina Roz’s comments reflect her ongoing commitment to the broader challenges facing Uganda, beyond the controversies surrounding the Federation. Her stance remains clear: no funds were received, and her priorities now lie in contributing to larger societal issues.
