Humphrey Mayanja, brother of the renowned artist Jose Chameleon, is in his final vigil to be laid to rest after battling cancer, initially diagnosed last year during his stay in the USA. With his health deteriorating, he returned to Uganda for the care and support of his loved ones in his final days.
The passing of Humphrey Mayanja has prompted an outpouring of condolences from his fans across social media platforms. In a poignant post from 2023, he recounted the harrowing realization of his illness during a layover at Schiphol airport.
“I kept falling asleep and waking up to intermittent fevers,” Humphrey shared. “The flight to Logan airport was delayed, but upon reaching home, my health took a severe turn. My stomach began inflating every five minutes, rendering me unable to walk or eat.”
His best friend rushed him to the emergency room, where he underwent a diagnosis and subsequent surgery. Humphrey reflected on the challenging journey, marked by painful procedures and uncertainty. “It was a tough experience,” he acknowledged. “But it all ended in surgery.”
