Singer Jowy Landa, whose real name is Joan Namugerwa, recently opened up about her experiences while under the management of fellow singer Pallaso. This revelation sheds light on the challenges faced by artists behind the scenes, showing a side of the music industry rarely discussed.
From the moment she delved into the music world, Jowy collaborated with various music managers. Among them was Pallaso, a well-known figure in the industry. However, her time under Pallaso’s management brought unexpected challenges, particularly in the realm of personal relationships.
Jowy disclosed this during an interview with radio personalities Jenkins Mukasa and Bat Badru. She explained that Pallaso had arranged an opulent apartment for her in Munyonyo and even provided a housekeeper to assist with her daily tasks. Yet, amid these gestures of support, Pallaso imposed strict rules that made her management experience uncomfortable.
One of the most significant restrictions was Pallaso’s disapproval of her engaging in sexual relations. This condition put a strain on her personal life and left her unable to spend intimate moments with a male musician she had been involved with in the past.
However, things have changed for Jowy Landa since those trying times. Deejay Roger from the Slick Stuart and Roger Deejaying team has taken over as her manager, and so far, everything is running smoothly.
