In an unexpected twist of events, singer and songwriter Jamie Culture has expressed his dissatisfaction with stand-up comedian Lubega Obedi, popularly known as Reign, from the well-known comedy duo, Maulana and Reign.
The issue arose when Reign took it upon himself to remix Jamie Culture’s hit track “Wuuli” without obtaining the necessary permissions first. This did not sit well with Jamie Culture, and he decided to speak up about his concerns regarding Reign’s actions.
During an interview with Ras Media TV, conducted amidst a serene setting at Alien Skin’s Fangone Forest, Jamie Culture made it clear that he intends to confront Reign about the matter and demand an explanation for his unauthorized remake of the song.
Jamie Culture went on to vent his frustration about artists who take the liberty of remixing other artists’ work without offering any support or assistance when needed. He believes it’s essential for artists to show each other respect and courtesy, especially when it comes to their creative endeavors.
Despite some labeling Jamie Culture as eccentric, he asserted that he will not back down and will confront Reign about his actions. He is determined to defend his artistic rights and ensure that his work is not misused or exploited without his consent.
Previously, Jamie Culture faced public backlash and even physical assaults due to his controversial behavior. However, it seems that he is now in a better state, thanks in part to Alien Skin’s efforts in supporting and nurturing artists who might otherwise have fallen by the wayside.
Alien Skin’s benevolence has extended to other artists as well, as demonstrated by the recent act of generosity towards Rocky Giant, who received a considerable sum of Shs400K. This gesture underscores Alien Skin’s dedication to uplifting struggling artists within the creative community.
