On September 2nd, two formidable Ugandan artists, Gravity Omutujju and Daniel ‘Navio’ Kigozi, will be gracing the stage with their respective concerts, ‘Okwepicha‘ and ’20 Years Of Navio.’ Interestingly, both concerts are scheduled for the same date, creating a musical clash that has left fans excited and torn.
While they have been known as rivals in the music scene, it is heartwarming to witness the support they are extending towards each other during this exhilarating showdown. They are not letting their past musical feuds overshadow the power of unity and collaboration.
Gravity Omutujju and Navio are well aware of the rich tapestry of music enthusiasts in Uganda, and they understand that their distinct music styles will attract diverse crowds. This realization has fueled their determination to make both events a resounding success.
In an extraordinary display of solidarity, Gravity Omutujju, known as Gereson Wabuyu, took a remarkable step by purchasing tickets worth a staggering Shs1 million for Navio’s concert. His motive? To ensure that dedicated Navio fans, who might face financial constraints, get the chance to attend the event of the year.
When asked about this generous gesture, Gravity Omutujju stated firmly, “I’ve bought tickets worth UGX 1M for Navio’s show happening this Saturday. However, I won’t be giving out any free tickets to my show. My fans have the means to afford my show at Lugogo Cricket Oval.”
