After facing several allegations regarding their sexuality, the talented Ugandan-Canadian singing duo, Ezekiel and Esther Mutesasira, have taken a bold step to set the record straight. The pair, known for waving the Ugandan flag high on the global stage, came out to publicly address the rumors.
Ezekiel and Esther Mutesasira’s rise to fame can be attributed to their mother, Julie Birungi, a former Ugandan music celebrity, who expanded the family’s fanbase before relocating to Canada. However, Julie’s recent choice of a same-sex partner sparked discontent among some of her fans back home.
This criticism soon spread to her children, leading the siblings to address the speculations surrounding their own sexual orientations. In a candid video shared on Esther’s TikTok account, the singers, along with their younger sister, bravely denied the rumors and firmly asserted their heterosexuality.
“To be serious, we are not gay, us the children,” Esther stated confidently. “We ask that you stop jumping to conclusions. We are straight, we are Born Agains, and we love God.”
The duo’s success in the recently concluded Canada Got Talent showcase, where they reached the finals, has only intensified the public’s curiosity about their personal lives. However, Ezekiel and Esther Mutesasira to decide to confront these allegations head-on showcases their resilience and determination to overcome obstacles in their path to stardom.
