“Our prize money was never paid!” Ezekiel and Esther, EAGT Winners, Cry Out Once More.
Ezekiel and Esther Mutesasira, Ugandan adolescent stars, won the first edition of East Africa Got Talent, held in Nairobi, Kenya, in 2019.
The couple was supposed to walk away with a reward of 184 million Ugandan shillings, but they returned with nothing but their bare hands, and they haven’t heard from the show’s organizers since.
They came out months ago and told their admirers that they had never received their money. Even after they screamed out, the management has not replied, according to their recent posts.
They screamed out this in a recent video uploaded on social media:
“We haven’t heard from them, we haven’t got it at all, they haven’t said anything. Two years straight, we are going to the fourth”.
They also pledged to inform their fans if they were to receive the funds.
“We are still waiting, we will let you know when they pay us fully,” the duo said.
East Africa’s Got Talent is a talent show that is part of Simon Cowell’s Got Talent franchise, which is owned by the famed America’s Got Talent judge.
