Rapper Navio, whose real name is Daniel Lubwama Kigozi, recently celebrated an impressive milestone in his musical journey – 20 years of making great music. On the evening of Saturday, September 2nd, 2023, the Kampala Sheraton Hotel became the epicenter of Navio’s musical extravaganza, aptly named the “20 Years of Navio” concert. The event was nothing short of spectacular, drawing in a remarkable crowd.
Navio’s concert was a star-studded affair, attended by numerous dignitaries, family members, and fellow musicians. Among the luminaries present were Martha Mukisa, Lydia Jazmine, The Myth, and the legendary Joanita Kawalya of Afrigo Band fame. Notably, the charismatic politician and singer Bobi Wine graced the occasion with his presence.
Despite government-imposed restrictions preventing him from taking the stage, Navio was deeply moved by Bobi Wine’s attendance. In a heartfelt Facebook post, Navio conveyed his gratitude to his friend and fellow artist, acknowledging the sacrifices Bobi Wine made to be there.
“If I managed to have my brother smiling that was enough for me! Thanks for gracing my concert, your presence and honoring the invite got me speechless! Thanks so much brother!” Navio exclaimed.
Prior to the concert, Bobi Wine revealed the reasons behind his endorsement of Navio’s event, citing their long-standing friendship and their collaborative tracks, “Badman from Kamwokya” and “Number One.” It was a night filled with music, gratitude, and the celebration of an artist’s remarkable journey in the industry, made even more special by the presence of a friend and fellow musician, Bobi Wine.
