Meddy Wasswa, also known as Taata Sula, was a leader of a Kampala money-swapping group when he was apprehended, according to the police. The arrest follows a Monday night investigative story by NBS TV. Taata Sula and six other individuals who sell men’s clothing close to Ham Shopping Center have a history of defrauding customers by exchanging their money for lesser amounts of goods or fakes.
The identity of Taata Sula’s crew members, five men and one woman, were revealed by Canary Mugume and Jamirah Mulindwa of NBS TV. The arrest of the crew members, with the exception of the woman who is on the run, was verified by police’s deputy spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan, Luke Owoyesigyire.
“Meddy Waswa who has been on the run after the arrest of his colleagues has also been arrested by our Police teams at CPS Kampala. The group also appeared on@nbstv investigative story and he is believed to be the ring leader of the group . One female suspect remains on the run,” Luke stated.
Taata Sula, who lives in Ndejje in Makindye Sabagabo, was also identified as having lately expressed interest in the position of LC1 chairman. Many people have fallen victims by these gangs of people and since it’s a big crew, people always fear to fight back after being swapped, some people also revealed that these gangs have been linked to police.
