Nansana-based religious healer Sheikh Umar, born Umar Kamoga, faces serious accusations. He was recently arrested and sent to Kigo Prison over child trafficking. Reports indicate that Umar has unlawfully resided with Habiba Namatovu for over 11 years.
According to Richard Tebajukirwa of Rich Properties, Umar’s actions warranted legal intervention. Richard lodged a police case against Umar at Nansana Police Station. Consequently, authorities detained Umar and sent him to Kigo Prison, where he has remained for more than a month.
Despite these grave accusations, Umar denies any wrongdoing. He insists that the child trafficking charges are baseless. “Richard Tebajukirwa, my best friend, filed these cases against me for personal reasons,” Umar stated emphatically.
Sheikh Umar expressed that Richard holds many of his property documents. “Richard’s true aim is to take over my possessions,” he alleged. This dispute between former friends has taken a severe toll, leading to Umar’s extended stay in prison.
Furthermore, Sheikh Umar voiced his frustration with the justice system. He criticized the authorities for keeping him incarcerated without trial. “I’ve been in prison for a month without appearing in court,” he lamented.
This case has stirred considerable controversy in Nansana. The community awaits further developments as Sheikh Umar remains arrested. His next court appearance will hopefully shed more light on the allegations and the truth behind this complicated situation.
