Mukono Member of Parliament Betty Nambooze has urged the public to ditch musicians with explicit lyrics. While addressing the public in a social media livestream, Nambooze expressed disappointment in the growing trend of vulgar music.
“Why do musicians resort to vulgar lyrics?” Betty Nambooze questioned. She voiced her concern about the nature of talent driving musicians to create such content. According to her, the increasing explicitness in music lyrics is disheartening and unacceptable.

Nambooze also raised a significant point about the appropriateness of these lyrics. “Would these musicians play their raunchy lyrics in front of their parents?” she asked, highlighting the disrespect and discomfort such content might cause in familial settings.
Specifically mentioning trending singer D Star, known for the hit song “Hoozambe,” Betty Nambooze urged Ugandans to stop supporting musicians who produce explicit content. She emphasized that talents promoting vulgarity do not deserve recognition.
