This morning, the Old Kampala Police initiated a full-scale investigation into the shocking attempted murder of Pastor Aloysius Bugingo, head of the House of Prayer Ministry, and the tragic killing of his bodyguard, Muhumuza Richard.
The incident unfolded around 9 PM on January 2nd, 2024, when unidentified assailants opened fire on Pastor Bugingo’s vehicle, bearing the distinctive plate PRAIZ GOD, along Namungona in Zone 2, Kasubi Rubaga Division, Kampala, at the Bwalakata Junction along National Housing Road. The assailants swiftly fled the scene on a motorcycle, leaving chaos in their wake.
Despite sustaining injuries, Pastor Aloysious Bugingo exhibited remarkable resilience by driving the wounded vehicle to Mulago Hospital. Tragically, his loyal bodyguard, Muhumuza Richard, did not survive the assault, succumbing to his injuries upon arrival at the hospital. Presently, Pastor Bugingo is receiving medical attention and remains under close observation.
Old Kampala Police, responding promptly to the incident, found that the crime scene had been tampered with. Eyewitness statements have been meticulously recorded, and the deceased’s body has been transported to the City Mortuary at Mulago for a comprehensive postmortem examination.
